Donna died at home on April 26, 1991. She was a long-time employee of Associated General Contractors – Labor Training Trust, but was most recently a vocational instructor at BSU. She had been married to Jerry Stover and married Don Owen in 1982. She had no children.

Rodney died suddenly of a massive heart attack on March 21, 2001, at age 58. He attended BJC, BYU, and served in the Army Reserves. Rod loved anything fast – on the ground or in the air. He owned Customs Unlimited Auto Body and was an artist and inventor. He was survived by his mother, four children, and five grandchildren.

Nancy died June 10, 1978, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 21; she was 35. After graduation, Nancy moved to Kalispell, Montana, and then back to Boise in 1968. She was a title officer for Pioneer Title at the time of her death. She was survived by a son and a daughter.

She married Ken Bowlin in 1962 and had lived in Portland before moving back to Boise in 1970. She was survived by her husband and a son.

Roger died of cancer on September 13, 1992, at age 49. He attended BJC, the University of Utah, and earned his DDS at Northwestern University Dental School. He was married to Suzanne Pecora. They had five children and lived in Centerville, Utah, where Roger was a dentist. He liked to golf and restore wood boats.

Marilyn was born September 27, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, and died suddenly on February 14, 2006, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her family moved to Boise in 1953. Marilyn had several jobs throughout her life, including banking, owning an art supply store, having a career in real estate, and operating a saddlery and feed shop in Garden Valley. At the time of her death, she was operating Carla’s Kitchen in Crouch. Marilyn had a passion for the mountains. Her love of family was evident every day in her selfless sacrifices and commitment to seeing that everyone else had what they needed. Her true joys were her four great-grandbabies. Marilyn was survived by her husband, Donald of Garden Valley; a son, Phillip Archey of Boise; a daughter, Carla Wright of Garden Valley; her parents, and two sisters. She was also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ralph was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in June 1967 and graduated from advanced military training in November 1967. He died on May 27, 1968, at the age of 25, while leading his platoon against hostile forces in the vicinity of Quang Tri, Vietnam. He was survived by two daughters and a son.

Rex died in an airplane crash November 14, 1998, while towing a glider plane; he was 55. Rex attended the University of Idaho and Wichita State University, earning a degree in aeronautical engineering. He was involved in aircraft certification for Cessna. He was married to Karen Johnson (BHS ’61). They were later divorced and he remarried in 1996. He was survived by his two children and his wife, Nancy.

Hawkins, Don
Don was born in Chicago, Ill. on Jan. 5, 1943, to Irene and Don Milne. A Boise High School graduate, Don went on to earn a B.A. Degree in Education from Boise State University. He majored in speech, drama and music and had a secondary level teaching certificate from the State of Idaho. His career took him initially into retail and then as a manager at Deseret Industries of Boise where he counseled and trained youth and adults with disabilities on career assessment and planning. He later returned to education where he taught English, speech and drama. He again later worked with at-risk students, helping them obtain their G.E.D. He also was an Employment Specialist at The ARC, Inc., where he provided training, placement and supportive services to disabled clients and was a mentor to many. Don also was a Store Manager for St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in 2002. Don´s avocation was music and drama and he excelled at both. He directed more than 40 productions locally. He produced and managed eight operas at the Morrison Center and served on the Board of Directors for both the Boise Little Theater and the Boise Opera. He toured throughout Idaho with Vicki Patterson, performing "Love Letters," and was the recipient of Best Director awards from the Boise Little Theater as well as many acting awards. For the last 8 years, Don was the Artistic Director of the Academy of the Theatrical Arts, an acting school for youths aged 7-17 and Manager of Dollar Duds, a Thrift Store located on Overland, the proceeds of which funded the Academy and paid the tuition for students of the Academy. Don was married on July 22, 1967, to Linda Sherman and they had four children. They were later divorced. The children are Cory Hawkins of Portland, Ore.; Kurtis Hawkins of Boise; Carla Hawkins of Post Falls and Kelli Hawkins of Payette and one grandson, Hunter. For the last 16 years Don performed and laughed with Vicki Patterson, the love of his life. A special tribute to Don appeared in the Idaho Statesman on April 18, 2006. Copies of the tribute are available from the reunion committee.

Vince died in Boise in January 1982 at the age of 38. He joined the Navy after graduating from high school and married Vicki Hartshorne (BHS ‘62). They lived in California where Vince obtained his Master’s Degree. He and Vicki had two daughters, but were divorced shortly before his death.

Jack was born in Boise in April 1943. He died in Tooele, Utah, in January 2004. He spent his life supporting his family in the plumbing supply industry. Jack loved spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, and was a faithful member of the Calvary Chapel in Murray, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother. Jack was buried at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise.

Sylvia was born in Boise on March 10, 1943, and died June 26, 2005, in Reno, Nevada. She attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Grade School, Saint Teresa’s Academy, and graduated from Boise High School in 1961. Kay loved life, her family, friends, animals and playing bridge. She spent many hours regaling her bridge buddies with jokes and stories of her “granddog.” Kay was survived by her son, Michael, her daughter, Michelle, and her husband of 42 years, Hal, all of Reno.

Jim died at his home in Stafford, Texas, April 15th, 2002, at age 58. In September 1961, Jim joined the National Guard and served as an airplane mechanic, radio operator and sharpshooter. He spent his adult life in Houston, Texas, where he worked as an electromechanical design engineer. Jim married Mary Ann Slafka in 1967. They divorced in 1985. After retiring, Jim spent his time overseeing his stock and mutual fund investments. He is survived by two daughters and four grandchildren.

Michelle was born in Gooding, Idaho, in January 1943 and died in Boise in November 2004 after a brief illness. She married Robert Aitchison in 1968 and traveled the world while he served in the Navy. They were married for 28 years and had five children and 15 grandchildren. Michelle was an accomplished massage therapist who loved all and was loved by many in return. She had a zest for life and had many amazing experiences. Michelle spent her last nine years with her partner, Bob Bundy.

After graduation, Peggy worked in Washington, DC, for the CIA. There, she married Glenn Newcomb, and they had a son. They later divorced, and Peggy moved to Boise, where she worked for the IRS and Employment Security. At age 34, she was diagnosed with cancer and died in 1997 at age 54 of complications from cancer.

Helen died November 30, 1998, after a long battle with diabetes; she was 56. She lived in Marsing and worked for several years as an activities director at Cascade Care Center in Caldwell. She enjoyed volunteering, crafts, genealogy, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was survived by a son, a daughter, and eight grandchildren.

Richard died October 2, 1976, at age 33 of a malignant brain tumor. He was active in High School ROTC and joined the Armed Services in 1961. He returned to Boise in 1970 and married in 1972. He was active in Idaho Volunteers in Corrections and Disabled American Veterans. He was survived by his wife, Elaine, and four stepchildren.

Carolyn was born in April 1942 in Baker, Oregon. She died in Boise in February 2005. Carolyn married Richard L. Murphy (BHS ’59) on September 13, 1960. They had two sons. Carol was active in family advocacy and had a special love for children. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and three grandchildren.

Sheila was born in Michigan in October 1943 and died of diabetes in Boise in September 2005. She married Wilber Clark in July 1961 and they had five children. They were later divorced. Sheila enjoyed travel, social events, camping, crafts and holidays with family. She was survived by four daughters and a son.

Carl died of a heart attack in a Salt Lake City Hospital on March 21, 1988, at age 44. He spent 4-1/2 years in the Navy and attended Boise State College for two years. After college he worked as a claims manager, and then joined John Alden Insurance Company, as an underwriter. Carl was never married.

Tom was born in Boise in August 1943, and died in an accident on his berry farm in Frankford, Delaware, in November 2002. He attended BJC and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1965. Tom got a Master’s Degree from George Washington University, and completed all the academic requirements for his doctorate. Throughout his life Tom was involved in politics and at one time worked for the White House. He owned and operated an orchard and berry farm for twenty years. Tom was survived by his mother, a brother, and a sister.

Charlene died October 10, 1979, at age 36 from complications of childbirth. She graduated from BYU and married Ronald Leckie. Jerry died on August 11, 2006, at his llama ranch near Trout Lake, Washington. Jerry was born to Everett and Inice Stone February 2, 1943, in Boise, Idaho. The Idaho Statesman obituary said he was a lover, teacher, minister, builder, astrologer, philosopher, rancher, writer, entrepreneur, counselor, hot air balloonist and world traveler. He impacted many people from many different backgrounds with his unconventional ways. He is survived by two sons, Matthew and Jonathan, two grandsons and two granddaughters.

Don was born in Boise and died in Grants Pass, Oregon, in May 2002 after battling heart disease for many years. He was retired from the Tacoma Fire Department after serving 26 years. Don served three years in the 101st Airborne Division, including one year in Vietnam, where he received a commendation for his meritorious service and the Purple Heart. Don was survived by his wife and one son.
